The Philmont Library is organizing the second annual community-wide yard sale on Saturday, May 7, 2011, from 9am until 2pm. You can hold a sale at your house or you can donate items to the library for their sale. Items donated to the library must weigh 20 pounds or less (in other words—no couches, large old TVs or similar items). Items can be brought to the library the week before the sale and proceeds will benefit the library.

The library will be handing out maps on the morning of the Yard Sale and we will be selling egg sandwiches and coffee & tea from 8am - 10am, and hot dogs from 11:00am- 1pm. Check out the Google Map of yard sale locations.

This is a good opportunity to clean out the attic, garage and basement. The village dumpster day is usually scheduled for the middle of May, in case there are leftovers. The more yard sales we have the more traffic we can expect in the Village. If you decide you would like to participate, let Karen at the library know so a map of the village can be printed for visitors. We will be advertising the event in the Columbia Paper, Register Star, Philmont.org, flyers, and the Philmont Library Newsletter. Maps will be available at the library the last week in April through the sale date.

The rain date is scheduled for May 14, 2011.
