 Members of the Philmont United Methodist Church held a dinner Friday night, January 8, in honor of Betty Calvin, center, marking her retirement after nearly half a century as the church’s organist. Posing in front of the pipe organ she played every Sunday for 46 years are, left to right, Pastor Kenneth Coddington; lay leader and choir member Arlene Dingman, who helped recruit Mrs. Calvin as organist in 1963; Mrs. Calvin; Tim Teaney, choir director; and Olga Bush, chair of the church’s administrative council.
