The Mellenville-Philmont Food Pantry would like to provide "Birthday Bags" for qualifying families celebrating a birthday.

The contents of the bag would include:

• colorful bag
• cake mix
• can of frosting
• candles
• birthday card

Completed bags can be brought to the library and will be picked up from there. If you would like to donate the various parts of the bags, we will assemble them at the library.

The Food Pantry is located in the Town of Claverack Office Building and is open on Tuesdays from 10AM-Noon from September to June. During July and August the hours switch to Tuesday evening from 6-8PM. Applications for food assistance are available at the pantry and can be filled out during open hours.

Another way of giving to the local food pantry is to send a check to the Regional Food Bank, with Mellenville-Philmont in the "memo" space. Or you can drop a check off at the library made out to the Regional Food Bank. The amount of your contribution will be credited to the Mellenville-Philmont Food Pantry account and can be used only by that pantry to purchase food at a reduced rate from the Regional Food Bank.
