Residents of the Village of Philmont may bring items for collection on Canal Street. Proof of residency may be asked for; be prepared. No early birds, No brush, No tires or rubber, No appliances with freon, No construction & demolition debris. Paint cans must be empty. You may contact Columbia county Solid Waste at (518) 828-2737 for instructions on how to dispose of restricted items.

Flower Barrel Planting Party
Rain or shine. Bring a shovel and gloves if you would like to help prepare and plant the barrels – if not – then just yourself to enjoy refreshments and good conversation! Nelson Sterner – who plants those amazing planters outside 119 Main St. we all admired last year, is DESIGNING the PB Inc. barrels this year. We now have a Philmont horticulturist to help the Main St. look quite spectacular this summer.

Concert and barbecue at the Claverack Town Park -- Take-out and Eat-in BBQ at 4:30, concert at 6:30. The Chicken Barbeque will be prepared by the Mellenville Fire Company for the benefit of the Philmont Public Library. Tickets are on sale now. To purchase tickets, stop by the library or check with a Friend of the Library.
